I Wanna Sew!

Ohmygosh do I ever just want to spend some quality time with my sewing machine! I am jonesing for it like a junkie needs a fix! And I keep hearing Sheryl Crow's song, "All I wanna do is have some fun" but with the words...all I wanna do is sew a little bit! Sick, right! *LOL*

So I do have this entire weekend to sew...but I'm soooooo tired that I'm worried I might sleep it away...and I've got things to do!

Let's see, I need to finish up the blue wool crepe/brocade dress and jacket. It still needs several hours of work to make it prime time ready. Then I need to prewash those 11 yards that just showed up from Fabric Mart so that I can get ready for my next bit of wardrobe sewing! And finally I have several things from my Top 10 Fall Fashion list that I R-E-A-L-L-Y want to work on. I need the next 48 hours to move very, very slowly...*LOL*

Okay so what are you planning on working on this weekend?

  1. I hope you get to sew this weekend. :) This weekend I'm just gonna work on embellishing my halloween costume. I have beads of different colors ready to be sewn in. That's my plan. :)

  3. I'm feeling the same way. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to sew either. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to productive.

  4. I hope your sewing goes well - maybe a short nap will help (but set the timer!)

I am having a renovation week-end. I have shortened a long formal dress into a lbd. Next is fixing a skirt that doesn't stay up properly and shortening it too make it more flattering!

Hope you have the best week-end!

  5. Same here, no time to sew. But I hope to make the most of the weekend and get some progress done on my velvet coat. I am tired too, but I have to fight it :)

  7. Halloween costumes. Three of them. They're for: "Miss Freeze, Hot Lava and Angel Girl". They made those names up themselves.

I've had the fabric for a week now, just haven't started the cutting and sewing. The superheroes (excuse me, heroines) are coming to Granny's for a visit, and I assured them that they'll be taking there 'suits' home with them. Hmmm. Better spring into action!!!

  8. This morning, I need to finish a dress that I am wearing to a wedding this afternoon. Tomorrow I need to start sorting thru the stash to find fabric for my swap. Hopefully, I will have time to cut out and start a skirt before the weekend is over.

Good luck to everybody with finding time to sew.

If I could just find my sewing mojo that would be great, b/c I did major damage in the Loft.

  13. I hope you get to sew because I probably won't. If I do, I'll finish the dress I'm making for my granddaughter.

  14. Since I teach sewing I never have enough time to sew my projects but I do get to help all my students sew theirs. This week I had a family of 3 daughters and a mother come in to finish their skirts - each was making a different kind. A few handbags, a couple of tops and today I had a student make a playboy bunny outfit for Halloween.
The only thing I got to make this week was a sleuth kit/bag for my daughter who is 8 yrs old and wants to be Nancy Drew for her costume.

I do love reading your blog and I have to say...I hope everyone voted if they have early voting and if not please get yourself to the polls on the 4th. Power to the people.

I do hope you got to enjoy your moments by making them "sew" much fun!

  16. I've spent the weekend doing almost nothing but sewing - I'm exhausted, but I have to get my outfit finished for a wedding on Friday and I don't want to be frantically finishing it at the last minute (like usual!). How on earth do those project runway guys work so fast. Hope you can get your sewing fix soon!

  17. I am working on my coat too. I also have not been sewing much this week, even though I have 3 pretty easy items already cut. Sew, girl sew!
