Now, I feel guilty about never making a coat. I have several gorgeous fabrics with lining, buttons, and patterns selected. Maybe, this year it will happen! I love your first dress of the series... look forward to seeing more.Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08501837896957263739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20705637.post-2655199716992318422013-09-22T07:19:12.919-04:002013-09-22T07:19:12.919-04:00Like you, I say that I want to make a coat every y...Like you, I say that I want to make a coat every year and every year I fail. I could use more clothes but I'm dressed so that's not enough and following the pattern is more paint by number. Learning something new, effectively using a theme, working with a "not me" color - whatever it is - some kind of challenge - works for me. I hope you find that too. Recently, I've thought a lot about how that garment (or whatever I'm sewing) doesn't have to fit me, be for me, be in my color range, or any of those other sewing for self concepts. It doesn't need to be sewing for self - it needs to be fun to sew, entertaining, hopefully challenging, and - most important for me - creatively stimulating in some way.
