Thanks everyone for your very kind comments on the dress, which I wore today. It will take some getting used to wearing such a close-fitting dress. My dresses made from woven fabrics give the illusion of being close-fitting but aren't really. This knit dress was laying right next to my skin and I kept pulling on it all day because I was very aware of the fit. However, I am going to make it again...I'm thinking of using either a turquoise double knit or the black double knit that I bought from Metro Textiles to make a pantsuit...both fabrics have a little more body than the poly/lycra knit.
My daughter's babyshower is this weekend, so I don't know how much sewing I will get done...but I will be off on Monday the 16th so there is always hope!

I too love the twin set. I think piping on the sleeves will be perfect. I love piping. You look wonderful in that dress. I don't feel comfortable in things that "fit" either, but you really do look great!

I guess you're going to be sewing little things too in the future for the new little one who's joining your family soon.

I am beginning to use more of some of my previously made patterns and the project seems to go faster. Partly because of less need to adjust for fit.

ReplyDeleteA very chic set. I will tell you that poly lycra knits make me feel the same way, even when they are not close fitting. I don't feel this way with rayon or cotton knits.

ReplyDeleteI haven't met you in person, nor do I know how the dress feels or even really looks in IRL, but in the picture, you look much slimmer in this dress than some of the others I've seen. I think the same thing when I see you in slacks. I really like the brown dress, I think it's great and great on you.
