Moving on...

This is just a filler post...some things rattling around in my brain...

The recent passings in the news have just blown me away. After seeing Farrah's Story, the documentary that was aired on NBC last month, I realized that it was just a matter of time until she succumbed to the cancer. Then to have that followed so quickly by the death of Michael Jackson was just an emotional overload. I still can not believe that he is dead...

There have been several posts on blogs about the fabrics that were purchased from the Vera Lavendar collection from Fabric.com. I am happy to report that most people were very satisfied with what they purchased. This is a good thing!

Since life is so fleeting and the sun is finally shining in the NYC area, I am sewing this weekend! *LOL* But you already knew that didn't you!

The post from my daughter will go up tomorrow...so look for it! I'm really proud of the dress that she made...can you tell!?!

And lastly, please take some time today or this weekend to hug the people closest to you and tell them that you love them...you just never know!

  1. You and I both grew up with Michael Jackson, so I think it hits us harder than even Farrah did. I'm only 2 years younger than he, for pity's sake! It's so scary. enjoy your sewing weekend, and hug that baby a lot!

  2. Yeah, it is strange, then we also had Ed McMahon earlier this week, who doesn't remember his voice entrance on Johnny Carson!
Have a good time sewing, I am preparing for an 8 yr old's birthday party tomorrow, wrapping up bible school tonight and just running in circles!

  4. It's sad for anyone to die as young as either Farrach Fawcett or Michael Jackson. You are so right about life being so fleeting. I am spending today with my extended family, so your words are timely. Thank you.

  5. Yeah, I'm 2 yrs younger than Michael and it hit me so hard. My husband, who is 3 years younger than me, had heart attack 2 years ago and had stents placed in his arteries! Please get regular checkups and eat right. Our bodies are our temples. Treat as well as we treat our machines and fabrics.
    LOVE TO ALL OF YOU

  6. I'm Irish, and I've always believed that big news/tragedies come in threes. This week had Ed McMahon, FF and MJ.

And I completely agree with you. Let those you love know it. Life is too short, as evidenced by the early demise of too many people.

  7. David Carradine died last week, too, so did it start a new round of three with Michael's death? The baby boomer icons are dropping like flies!

When I was in college, developing photographs from 10pm to 7am (all nighters), the radio was filled with the Jackson Five and Michael. We "thrilled" with him over Thriller being on MTV and watched the progression of hits. I will miss Michael Jackson.

My heart breaks for Ryan O'Neil and his and Farrah's families.

God Bless everyone who has passed.

ps.. my word identification for this post is "hopay". ROFLMAO!!

  8. My DH said last night that you somehow don't expect people like Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson to get old let alone die before their time. It is surreal(Did I spell that right I wonder?)Both have been such a big part of our Pop Culture that it's hard to believe they won't be out there anymore. The same as when Princess Diana died .
Have a great time sewing and will be sure to check in to see your DD's dress. My DD is coming home for two weeks tomorrow and we are having a party to celebrate her 40th birthday! Oh my Gawd Im old!

  9. I didn't know that I would take Michael's death this hard. It hits me in unexpected spurts. At the rink last night, they played so many of his songs. I didn't know if I was going to make it. It is so, so very sad. I feel as if I lost a relative.
