My girl did it!

I love Mo'Nique! I love her style, her sass and the fact that she loves her body just the way it is! So I want to give a great big CONGRATULATIONS! for her Golden Globe win for "Best Supporting Actress in a Movie!" If you've seen the movie, Precious, you know she deserved that prize!

...and she looked good too!  Loved, loved, loved her gown!!!

  1. Congratulations :)
But they've run out of good stuff for articles:

The article is Danish and it says, that she forgot to shave her legs and she did not seem to care. The rest of the text is meaningless, but the standard at the news paper is rather low.

Anyway I love the way she looks SO happy and natural, not that stiff Hollywood smile, as seen on e.g. Nicole Kidman. Guess they just HAD to find something negative.

  2. How would they know, you can't see her legs?
Anyway she looked gorgeous and gave a great speech.

  3. I have always loved her because she is glamorous. She is gorgeous. I can't wait for the knock-offs of that dress to hit the market.

  4. Her award was a lovely way to begin the progtram! And she looked totally fabulous, one of the best dressed women at the event in my opinion!

  5. That gown is beautifully draped. The hair on her legs is a non-story as she has made it know for years that she does not shave her legs. I guess it really was a slow news day.

  7. Not only was her gown fabulous. The woman brought it on from head to toe. And, her speech set the bar for the rest of the night. It was difficult for those later to measure up.

    Wow!

  9. Goodness knows there were some hot messes on Sunday, but I agree, her dress was far from being one. Lovely drape, beautiful color and fit her to a tee.

  11. I really hated her in Precious, which means she acted her tail off! She really looked beautiful, too.

  12. It's a pleasure to see a woman who is comfortable in her body without feeling the need to be a size 2, even in Hollywood.

  13. I saw this and thought "Wow, Carolyn won!" since she is your alter ego, of course.

Loved the MLK post. I stayed off the Internet this three-day weekend and am just now catching up. Love the new banner. ;)

  16. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie, I have read so many good things about it, and Monique's performance. Doesn't she look amazingly glamorous and I love her gorgeous dress.

  17. Monique is a classy woman just by being herself. She looked great at the awards. Carolyn, I like your new banner!

  18. Loved the dress, loved her in it. She was glowing and absolutely gorgeous. Even Joan Rivers agreed she looked lovely. Of course, she had to qualify it with "she looks heavy but lovely" I find myself wondering why the comment needed to be qualified. Was Joan thinking she or viewers needed to be reminded that Monique is "heavy?" Maybe we would fail to notice if she didn't comment on it? Maybe Monique would be under the impression that her weight was OK because she looked beautiful anyway (and you KNOW we can't have that). I spent way too much time thinking about why Joan couldn't just say she looked beautiful and leave it!

  19. I loved her gown from the front, but did not like the back. She had such a moving acceptance speech.
