Not much sewing going on here...

I hate that the topic of this post is that...I want to sew!  But I have no desire to sew!  I know it's because the seasons are changing and I really don't want to make another fall/winter garment.  However, it's not warm here yet...rainy yes!  Cold and damp...yes!  But there are no warm spring breezes...no long sunny days...just that transistional period that does not encourage me to sew.

Now buying...ha!  That's another story!  I am single-handledly keeping both my UPS Driver and my US Postal Person employed!  And it's not like I don't have ideas...oh please my mind is overflowing with ideas...of wait for it...spring dressses!  I even have the fabric, lining, pattern and buttons for a spring coat...one that I want in the worse way.  I should be working on that now, right?!  So that it's ready to wear when the spring weather comes...ummmm, yeah right...that ain't happening!

So I'm just checking in to let you know that I'm alive.  That nuthin' fiberly is going on in my little corner of the world...well that is if you don't count accumulating.  That even though the lights flickered on and off ALOT yesterday that we didn't ever really lose power during that very nasty Nor'easter.  And that even though today we turn the clocks ahead an hour in anticipation of spring...I'm just not feeling it!

Seriously, is spring EVAH coming?

...more later!

  2. For once I did have time to sew this weekend and had good results. You do so much sewing in the run of a year that this no sewing period for you is OK ;)

Spring is definitely on it's way.

  3. I saw a cherry tree and a forsythia bush blooming on Friday (before the blossoms were destroyed by the nasty weather). Yes, spring is EVAH comin'. If I say it enough it will happen....
I cut out a pair of black pants and a navy skirt today as transition garments. Now I'm off to do taxes. Yet another sign of spring.

  4. I bought 7 rose bushes yesterday so looks more like gardening than sewing. Whatever was I thinking? Looks like my sewing mojo is temporarily stalled anyway. I wanted to make myself a high school reunion wardrobe for our June reunion but life got in the way. Loving DST already and looking forward to Spring. ;-)

Oh Ladies! We are coming to the end of a very HOT summer. I am done with wearing as little as possible while still staying decent. Bring on winter with hats, scarves, coats and flanelette PJs. We have hit autumn (your fall) so at least the mornings/nights are cooler and the days are getting better. No heat-waves, anyway.

  6. It's hot and wet here and I wonder if winter will ever come. I think I'm getting webbed feet. I spent a lot of time today sitting at the sewing machine and staring out the window. Like you, I have ideas and plans, they just aren't making it through to my hands.

  7. I know exactly how you feel. I just finished a winter skirt. I postponed starting my next project in my queue because it's a Spring project and I'm not sure Spring will EVAH come!

  8. Really?! I have been crazed to sew lately! I just haven't had the time. My little brother came to stay for a week, and it was great, but I went through sewing withdrawl and am now rabid!

I'm all about sewing spring pieces - then I can have some things ready to go when the weather finally turns. And I think it is finally starting too....

  9. But you have to be ready for when that first warm breeze hits, right? I know it's tough with this dreary weather hitting the East Coast right now, but that will change and you need to be ready for it. Now you can kick me right in my butt right back! LOL!

  10. My sewing mojo was murdered by a jacket that I've been working on for a month. I finally got the ease correct but screwed up the sleeve/shoulder. I'm sticking to reading a book for a while so I can rethink what I want to sew.

  11. Carolyn,it sounds to me like you may be a little burned out and just need to have a good restful weekend or two and then you'll be whipping up those gorgeous dresses you are so good at and that spring coat too.
Here in New Brunswick,Canada, we've had a full week of warm sunny weather. Tomorrow it's suppose to go up to 15degrees Celsius.( I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit but it's unnaturally warm for our neck of the woods.) Sorry I don't mean to rub it in but our winters were so horrible last year and the year before that we are delighted with what we're getting now. I'm sure you'll be getting some of the same very soon. Have a great week.

  12. I'm in the same slump, although my transition is weight-related. Tonight I made a pair of lounge pants just to feel remotely productive.

  13. Well, I have faith that my sewing mojo will find its way home one of these days. In the meantime I think it went trekking in the himalayas.
