I've had it for 24 hours now...bought off the newsstand as I was running to catch the bus in Port Authority. I have a few pages earmarked...but there will definitely be some things added to my list (yes, I think I'm finally feeling fall!)...and some things added to my Sewcation sewing list!

ReplyDeleteCan someone explain to me the fascination with the September Vogue? I know it's the major fall/winter fashion issue. But last time I picked one up, I had to ask "where are the clothes?". The ads were all artsy poses, not showing the clothing off at all. And I think only a couple of articles were about fashion trends. I realize the trend is toward selling the image, but not much made me want to venture into a store. This was a few years ago, have they changed again, or am I just becoming an old grump?

ReplyDeleteJust to clarify - my comment reads a bit whiney. I'm really curious if my expectations are wrong or if I don't know how to interpret the ads and ferret out what the trends are.
ReplyDelete(whine on) I wonder when IT will show up in the boonies where I am, we get everything later than everyone else (whine off). The only issue of Vogue that I have ever bought. Does anyone know if the British Vogue is as large as the North American version?
ReplyDelete@JustGail - you are right it is over 800 pages of advertisements. The articles are few and far between...however, I WANT it for all of those ads. Most companies feature their newest garments, shoes, handbags, jewelry on those pages. If you are not into the ads and the trends, then no I wouldn't go crazy looking for it!
