Vogue 7617

I just want to start this post out by confessing that yes...I'm delusional!

See, I look at the drawing on the front of this pattern and I see me.

In no way am I tall and thin with a flat belly and a small chest...yet I see me in this drawing/outfit!  Delusional, right?! *LOL*

This is the pattern I'm using for the bolero jacket to go with the black linen version of my TNT dress pattern.  I'm just trying to decide if I want to add white or tan topstitching to the edges of the jacket.

And has anyone noticed that lately I've been intrigued by alot of late 90s early 2000s Vogue patterns?  It seems that is the period in Vogue Pattern history that has the work suit options I like.  Hopefully this will turn out better than my last adventure with a early 2000s Vogue pattern!

...as always, more later!

  3. No, I don't believe you are delusional. You will make the pattern 'yours' as you fit it to your own shape. I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome! :)

No indeed. No no no. The truth is goddess sized or approaching goddes size women, need clothing that fits.

I believe that you are looking at a misleading, inconsequential pictorial and, RIGHTLY, realizing it's potential for women WITH SHAPE and curves.

Can't hardly wait to see what you do with this interesting outfit.

  6. Not at all, I have boxes of them from the local thrift shop when they closed and many are so cool...

  7. You're not delusional. I see you in this outfit, too and you are wearing those lovely nude shoes of yours that I like so much.

  8. Thats the good thing about having lots of sewing experience, we can see beyond these unrealistic drawings and look at the lines of the pattern. Unless we are all delusional of course.....!

  9. You are not delusional! It's confidence - you know that you don't have to be tall and skinny to look fabulous (and thank goodness for that because most of us don't look anything like that drawing on the pattern envelope). Both the dress and the bolero jacket are lovely, classic styles that, made right, would suit anyone.

  10. I don't think ANYONE is shaped like the models on these patterns! You're not delusional, THEY are!! I'm also attracted to patterns from this time period (late '90's/early '00s) and have quite a few in my "to sew" pile.

  11. You are not delusional! Your creations reflect your special touches. You will look fantastic (as usual) in the new dress / bolero.

  12. The biggest question I have with the jacket is the lack of darts or fitting lines. I do like the shorter silhouette over the longer dress.

  13. I call it reverse anorexia. I have it too! (Which I think is personally more fun!)

  14. I see myself like that all the time... Of couse, the BF tells me regularly that I spend too much time near that river in Egypt....I ignore him...

I had to wear and suit and panty hose for very important meeting yesterday. It's a 3 piece linen/rayon blend that is lined in polyester. Thought I was going to pass out from heat stroke - the stuff doesn't breathe!! DC is way too hot this time of year to be wearing a suit like that. I will not be lining my clothing with polyester.....

  15. Interesting, I looked at it and yes, I did see you in that dress & fabric also. What I'm not sure I see is you in that jacket, because of the collar. I notice you don't wear a lot of things with collars. Might be a nice change, like the V-neck dresses?
