Breaking News...

Due to Hurricane Sandy the Sewing Cave has been dismantled...let's go to the photographic proof...

Sewing machines have been taken upstairs.  Two feet of space has been cleared, just in case and...

...here I sit...waiting...hoping and praying that it won't be as bad as the weather people are predicting...oh and I've scheduled a few posts for the week...just in case!

...now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

...as always more later!

  30. I'll be waiting to hear that you're okay and praying for your safety. Do take care of the irreplaceable you. They'll still be making fabric and books and sewing machines but there's oly one you. That said, I hope your studio comes out the other end safely if only so you can get back to the stress release of sewing ASAP. I'm so thankful for what sewing has added to our lives - creativity, stress release, focus, friends. It's a long list. HUGS

  32. It isn't so much that water comes in, it is that the water is polluted. Everything it touches has to be thoroughly cleaned and some types of materials can not be cleaned enough to use again.
If you do get water make sure to move your books as they will mildue or mold will grown very quickly.
Our city flooded in 2008 and we learned a lot about what flood water can do. Stay safe and I hope you remain dry.

  33. Oh, prayers from here for your safety! We're far enough inland in NC that all we expect to get is wind and --ack! -- snow. Drag out some of your woolens to wrap around yourself should the power fail.

  37. Stay safe Carolyn. My thoughts are with you and your family. There's been a frenzy of shopping for water, non-perishable foods and batteries here in Ontario too. Hopefully I won't have to go through the exercise of moving everything - I can only imagine how much work that is, and how worried you must be about the outcome of it all! Hopefully soon it will all be just a distant memory.
