I had so much fun...

...and fabric wasn't involved!  *LOL*  Last night we went to see the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center and the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.  I haven't been to see "The Tree" in at least a decade and it's been more than two decades since I last saw the Rockettes.  These are touristy things that I did with my children when they were younger.  Since they're all grown up now, I haven't thought of these things in awhile.

Fast Forward to October pre-Sandy, a bunch of us were in the office talking about Christmas in NYC because several of our new employees are from different areas of the country.  As a group we decided that we should see The Christmas Show at Radio City, and that is how I ended up seeing the Rockettes and the Christmas Tree.

Can I tell you that I had so much fun!  The Tree is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G as pictured below...

...Radio City is just awesome since they restored it!

Then to top the night off, I had my picture taken with a Rockette!
Yes, corny I know but soooooo much fun!  *LOL*

There will be sewing this weekend.  Last weekend, I completed a few things that need to be photographed...and now I've gotten it into my head that I need to make pjs for the grandkids and the younger nieces & nephews.  I don't know if that's actually going to happen but I think I'm gonna give it a really good try!

Finally a little Christmas music to go with the tree...

...as always more later!

  3. Thank you for sharing! There is nothing quite like Christmas in NYC. My family went a few years ago and had a great time.... it was especially exciting coming up from South Carolina!!! Your pictures are beautiful!!! We have been having 70 degrees plus days and it just doesn't quite feel like Christmas here yet.

  8. What fun! Last year we went with the grandchildren to see the Rockettes Christmas show at the Wang Center in Boston. It was such fun and the children loved it. So did Grandma!

Isn't it special how we see the world new again through the eyes of children?

  9. I've never seen the tree or been to NYC and enjoyed the details of the photo. Television never seems to show it all that well-it all looks quite grand. I like your outfit-very seasonal and sophisticated with the black jacket and pearls.Until now I never thought of wanting a red dress-very nice.

  11. My kids just told me they remember when they cut the tree down from the mountains behind our house and brought it down the road on it's way to New York. We lived in Wolf Creek, Oregon. My daughter said she remembers it was going by some ice skating rink in NY, that was about 20 years ago. She was wondering where they got this tree, I had assumed the tree grew there all year, haha.
