I have to admit that the trip did make me feel better! Though I'm trying to figure out how I only ended up with black fabric!!! *LOL* But a nice smile, some wonderful fabric and the fact that I showed restraint and only came home with two pieces turned my day around!

Kashi is amazing in the way that he treats all visitors like an old friend that he has been expecting. Then he pulls out fabric that he specially selected for you. 2 pieces is showing a lot of restraint.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a fabric shop like that here. Mostly quilting cottons these days and wool shops where I am. Not that I am complaining but a nice fabric shop is great for some retail therapy on a bad day.

DeleteI loved visiting Metro Textiles (went back in 2012). Best fabric shopping experience ever. If I lived nearby, my bank account would be in serious trouble.

I haven't been since last summer. I love Kashi's stuff but like many shops in the garment district, the shear density of the fabric rolls can freak me out! I start to worry about fire in a place like that above the street. That said I picked up a faux fur and some chambray. I'll be back.....

ReplyDeleteYou got very nice fabrics. I would grab some of the lace if only it were not black. I rather like the shade it shows as in the photo, like a pearl gray. I just cannot wear black. I can hardly wait to see what you do with these fabrics. Thanks for sharing Metro with us. Once my knees are replaced, I am heading to NYC!
