The Concord Tee Series

I posted this picture to Instagram a couple of weeks ago.

Then I started working with the pattern and fabric from the collection and got carried away. Seriously carried away.  I made four hacked versions of the tee using my original tee pattern.

Next I made two t-shirt dresses with at least 3 more to come because I love a good t-shirt dress in the summer. The fabrics are stacked and ready to be cut.

Finally, I redrew the pattern pieces using a straight size 24 to get a looser fitting tee. My original version sewn last spring is a 20 neck, 22 waist and hip. I made a couple of solid colored and a print/patterned tee using the size 24 pattern.

This is a lot of pieces sewn from one pattern. After taking pictures of the first batch of garments, I realized that I would need to write separate blog posts for each segment. One post was just too overwhelming.

I hope you stick around for the series of posts on how I made quite a few Concord Tees for summer wearing. I've also included a new skirt that I made to go with one of the tees. And I've added instructions on how I made the flutter sleeves on the tee and the dress.

If the tees are not your thing, come back in a minute because I'm sure I will be sewing something different then!

...as always more later!

    1. Yes it is! Jenny designed it to fit busty women. That's why it goes up to an H cup size. It works for me because I'm plus size and a lot of my fitting challenges have been incorporated & solved by the pattern.

  9. Have been indulging in multiples myself. made a tee shirt pattern, tweaked it to a nightshirt length and made sleeve alterations. Made 8 nightshirts in all. Now I am doing the same thing with a woven blouse pattern. Will make at least three, maybe four, of those. Wish we had adjoining sewing rooms so I could learn from you.

  12. Once again you are so very inspirational! I was impressed with myself for making 3 iterations of a tee pattern; now I'm thinking I need to go crank about a dozen more out. Thanks for posting like you do!

  13. They are great and look wonderful on you each and everyone. I am into a T-shirt craze myself right now, but you are far ahead of me in finished makes. A girl can never have too many T's!

  16. Absolutely amazing that these garments are from one pattern. Would it be possible to detail somewhat how you changed the pattern for the different looks? You are definitely very inspiring!
    Thank you

    1. Marie - I will explain the hacks in each detailed post of the garments. The flutter sleeves will get their own "technical" post so you can refer back to it if you want. It was just tooo much information to put into one post.

  17. Even owning a serger, I've always been intimidated to sew knits. You make it seem effortless. Lovely fabric choices. And your variations are so clever. Well done. You look Marvelous.

  18. I always admire how you take one pattern and make so many items from it. And each one is unique with just some small change; i.e, changing the sleeve, changing the neckline, lengthening or shortening. They all look great on you!

  19. You created so many beautiful things from that pattern! I love the Tshirt dresses! It is so nice to really use a pattern to its fullest capacity.

  21. I am also on a t-shirt kick because it's summer. I can make a pretty t, pair it with capris, sandals and a cardigan and be ready for work. Jenny told me how to fit my t better, so it is waiting on my sewing table with a pile of knits.I may try the high/low hem.
