I met her in person at Sew Expo in 2016. It was great to spend some time with her. My next garment was this skirt...
I've bought fabric from Smugglers Daughter that I used to make scarves for Christmas gifts. I've bought denim and this amazing cut out pleather that's back on my to sew list this fall. Susan has such interesting fabrics and I always find something I just have to have on her site.
To continue our celebration of National Sewing Month, Smugglers Daughter is offering the next gift card. Susan is generously offering a $100 gift card to one lucky winner.

ReplyDeleteBlondes, Brunettes & Redheads, Product Number 180102 is my favorite. The colors are wonderful and it would be a great wrap. I have been looking at one that goes from a tabbard-style tunic to shoulder wrap with just a few buttons. Sometimes picking out the buttons is the best part of the process but I think this fabric will be my favorite part.

ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible selection of fabric. I would definitely love Far Out knit to make a top that will go with EVERYTHING, due to the splashes of colour! I love that she includes images of items that will pair well with the fabrics. The electric blue ponte would be a great choice to go with it and do some colour blocking.

ReplyDeleteI've not ordered from smugglers daughters yet although I'm aware of them. I've been recently looking at rayons or rayon challis for a MOTG dress I'll be making. Fun to look and smugglers daughters does a fab job writing about the feel and drape of the fabric. So important.

Splash of Color is calling my name - I have the perfect pattern for it, and it reminds me of a dress I bought in Italy years ago, that I need to replace because it no longer fits... I love sewing with stretch-woven fabrics, and I'm so happy you showed us the Smuggler's Daughters site.

I have made a Cashmerette Concord Tee A-line dress out of a similar style fabric and always get compliments on it, even when people have seen it a million times. Plus it's the most comfy dress to wear! Lovely to be able to find new sources to feed a fabric obsession!

ReplyDeleteI fell in love with Smuggler's Daughter fabrics when I saw them at the Puyallup expo in 2016. I bought a beautiful fleece plaid for a poncho. This morning the fabric that really caught my eye was the JNY Crazy Quilt jacquard that is calling my name and would look wonderful as a jacket. I'm thinking something drape-y like the Just A Pinch from Cutting Lines Designs. Thanks for the inspiration this morning!!!

I'm trying to infuse more colour into my winter wardrobe. Most people are wearing black and gray; it's so dark already - why do they do this?!?!? The Apple Green Italian suiting would be a definite reminder of spring.

I'm loving the rich earthy tones of this fabric, and seeing that its a Ponte knit the weight of the fabric would compliment a beautiful full circle skirt; stopping just below the knee.
