A New Title - Janome Maker!

I've been having conversations with Janome America for several months. As you know I am a loyal and faithful Janome sewing machine user. I've written several blog posts about them. I love the machines and their ease of use.  So I was thrilled when Janome America invited me to be a member of their Maker Team!

Now I don't know if you've read or heard about the resurgence of sewing in America due to how much time we're spending at home.  Not only have we started to cook more but we're also crafting, sewing and knitting since we're home a lot more. Because of that sewing machines in both beginner and more advanced models sold out in the early days of quarantine...and it took a minute for them to be restocked and for me to receive my new machine.

Y'all I did a jig yesterday when the UPS truck dropped off my new Janome 9450QCP sewing machine...even though I was in the midst of packing up my sewing cave...and since I'm packing we took it out to ooooohhhhh and aaaaahhhh over and then I packed my machine back into it's box.

A Few Pictures ~

Taking the Styrofoam out of the box!

Sitting on my current sewing table

Showing the pieces to the granddaughters

The grands sharing the pieces for the gram!

Holding the cover and the extension table

The 9450QCP also comes with a knee length, 3 different needle plates, 23 standard feet, plus an extra large foot pedal and separate thread cutter. This is the evolved version of my 8900QCP and I can't wait to explore the upgrades!

I really wanted to devote this post to my new Janome sewing machine and becoming a member of the Janome Maker Team.  My next blog post will discuss a few changes that are coming to my life...so stay tuned!

....as always more later!

  2. Congratulations, Carolyn! Janome is fortunate to have you on their team. You will represent them well! Best to you on your move as well. Your helpers are adorable. Some of my most favorite childhood memories are being with my grandmother in her sewing room.

  6. I love Janome as well. Looking forward to your posts about the "Maker Team". What an honor.
Your Grand kids look so happy.

Now the sewing world needs to encourage "mask makers" to broaden their sewing skills by going into the next step of sewing clothing.

  8. I am so happy Janome put you on their team. I’m loving the sewing dad and looking forward to the fashion therapist girl too, I think there’s going to be some good stuff coming out. I hope the new toy has only a brief waiting time in the box.

  9. congrats on the recognition Carolyn. I'm also a Janome devotee. Recently having flogged my 12 year old Janome 6600 to death I had to update. Fortunately I found exactly the same model on ebay that had never been used, still in the box. So I didn't really have to update in the end, just replaced. I look forward to how you'll use the new recognition to encourage others to take up sewing.

  13. I've had my 9400 for about 3 years now. Love it and it just might be my last machine ever. There is a Facebook 9400/9450 users group that is a great resource since the manual is next to useless. Almost all complaints about the machine are due to user error or poorly worded messages on the screen. This is my 4th Janome machine and I've loved them all, but especially this one.

  14. Wow. Way to go. My original machine was a Sears Kenmore (made by Janome) purchased in 1970. It finally got replaced this summer by a new Janome! Only fifty years later, but the same reliable great brand.

  26. I'm a fellow Janome fan. Hope your new janome is delightful. I'm curious about whether they still have the pressure dial to lighten the foot pressure. A feature I love but which many other manufacturers have got rid of.

  27. I'm so very curious about 3 needle plates. I get a straight stitch plate and a zig zag, but what's the third?! g
