Calling all my NJ Sewing Sisters

I am in love with Sitemeter. I love that you can go on at different times of the day, hit the world map and see it light up with those little white dots indicating where in the world people are from that visit my blog.

At first I was really excited to see all the lights in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa! My Goodness...Africa! Then I started to notice that there were an awful lot of local cities in New Jersey popping up! And I gotta tell you, several weeks ago when I asked for shout-outs no one from any local NJ cities shouted back at me!

So since I am a Jersey Girl through and through (I just love my state!) I am calling you out! These are the cities I have noticed visitors from in the last week....

  • Burlington, NJ

  • Cranford, NJ

  • East Rutherford, NJ

  • Edison, NJ

  • Essex Falls, NJ

  • Glendora, NJ

  • Layton, NJ

  • Maplewood, NJ

  • Mendham, NJ

  • Montclair, NJ - woohoo! I lived there for 3 years!!!!

  • North Brunswick, NJ - lived there for 10 years!!!!!

  • Piscataway, NJ - graduated from PHS! Go Super Chiefs!
So this is the thing...I would love for you to drop me a line ~ either in the comments or at my email address and say hi! Y'know from one Jersey Girl to another! And no pressure...if you want to remain anonymous, that's kewl but I sure would like to know whose stopping by...and thanks for reading my ramblings and visiting!!!

  8. Hello! Another Jersey girl checking in. I'm in Matawan NJ. Love your site and I've commented awhile back for advice on visiting the fashion district in NYC where you get your great fabrics. You were so kind in your response! I like to drop in now and then and see what you have been up to.

  11. Hi, I'm in Camden. First time I've visited your blog. Been sewing for over 40 years and it's the first time I heard of directional sewing involving the grain. Mostly I just do alterations/refashioning - what my husband calls remanufacturing the clothes to my expectations. :)

  12. Hey there, "fellow" Jersey girl. I was born in Jersey City, spent the first five years of life in Hoboken, both parents born and raised there. I now live at the shore, south of Long Beach Island,in Little Egg Harbor. That's the southernmost tip of Ocean County. I love to sew, learned at the age of 9 on my grandmother's old Kenmore..weighed a ton! Anyway, I love my state also..Jersey girl born, raised, married to a born/raised Jersey guy for 34yrs. We have no plans to move!

  16. Hi there!
I just stumbled upon your blog and think it's great! I am a Mom of 2 girls, ages 2 & 3 and ever since they were born I've had tons of sewing project ideas running around in my head, but I have no idea how to sew on a machine. (I don't own one yet either). Do you know of any places in northern NJ that teach sewing to beginners? I'm looking for something that isn't too pricey, and something I don't have to commit to. I love your passion for sewing, and I think it is hobby I would love to pick up!
    Thank you so much :-)

    Julie from Paterson
