I found this pattern in one of Out of the Ashes offerings and promptly bought it! I liked the idea of a mock neck turtleneck...though I think I am going to have to alter this so that it's just a little higher in the front...and it still needs the gray buttons added...but for a wearable muslin...it's not bad!
It has a zipper in the back. Since I didn't have an invisible one in the right length I inserted it by hand. I like this effect and will probably use it again...
However, the next version of this will definitely have a higher front neckline...anyway, this is what I worked on...I wasn't that motivated to sew...it was a rainy weekend and all I wanted to do was curl up in bed with a good book.

Your set is so nice and very wearable. I was looking at the turtle neck that was in the burda plus and thinking it might be nice cut down into a small mock neck. I have too much turkey gobbler stuff going on with my short neck to do the turtle neck thing any more.

Great twinset and really like the mock neck. After working on a turtleneck a mock neck would be a nice alternative.

ReplyDeleteI just got this fabric recently and haven't completely decided what it wants to be, but this twinset was definitely the perfect choice for you. I love how it looks on you, and I'm sure you have a ton of things to wear it with. The zipper is ... impressive. I've only started putting zippers in knits and that insertion scares me slightly.
