I'm not a religious person and mean no disrespect to those who are . . . but all I can say is HALLELUJAH and AMEN! It's a bright new day here in Washington DC!

Furthermore, when you believe in yourself and work hard towards your goal and do not quit no matter what happens, it will come to fruition.This is one of the many examples and I personally believe that one day America would have a black president but I did not know it would have happen in my lifetime. May God Bless Barack Obama and his family. :)

ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I wrote several weeks ago that people would do the right thing...and we did. You worried needlessly and imagined a divisive wall that was not there, and hasn't been there for quite a while. Maybe now people of color will feel secure that the majority of white people are pure of heart. I grew up in the 60's and witnessed the hatred first hand. We are only 40 years away from those times on a calendar, but centuries away in our collective hearts. We are in a different time and place today. Let's celebrate together and hold our heads up high for the world to see. As our new president said last night, "God bless the United States of America." And we can proudly add, our home, sweet home.

I'm proud to be an american everyday. Last night reinforces it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't vote for Barak Obama,but when he won the election was such a moving moment.Now every child growing up in American can say I'm going to be president when I grow up.We are one America not divided by the color of our skin and hopefully we will all finally come together for a common purpose.

ReplyDeleteI really can't stop crying I'm so proud to be a part of this. And I'm tired..so very tired. Time to rest then we must get back to work because we all have our jobs to do for a better tomorrow for the change we hope...For world peace.
