Vote!

Tomorrow is election day in America! It is the day that all citizens get to "have their say" about our government and I'm hoping that you are registered to vote and will exercise that right! Now I know that alot of you have had the opportunity to vote early...and I'm jealous of that! But for the majority of us tomorrow is it!

So before you think this is going to become an Obama commercial, relax, I'm not going there 'cause y'all all know where I stand...no this is just a reminder...

*If you are a first time voter remember to bring ID with you, preferably a government issued ID.

*If you were mailed a sample ballot and still have it, bring it with you also...it can't hurt.

*I think everyone going to the polls tomorrow should be prepared to wait. I don't think this is going to be quick and easy for anyone since the media is predicting record turnouts for tomorrow's election.

...and see you for the results!

VOTE!!!!

  1. First time commenter. :) I found you by clicking and clicking on other blogs. I love that you sew and you're an Obama supporter (really, that solidified me adding you to my google reader!).

I'll be voting for Obama tomorrow - and I'm in a swing state, Ohio!

  2. Thank you, Carolyn! I couldn't stand the suspense, so I was able to take advantage of early voting and I voted yesterday. Rose in California

  3. yeah i'm going to vote tomorrow in Ohio. Decided that I didn't want to do early voting even though it was available in Ohio. Hopefully the lines will not be long. I think I'll get there at 6:15 in the morning. By the way your outfit was great. Keep up the good work. You inspire me to sew more and it's nice to know that there are people like me who love to sew and think about it constantly.

  4. I'm looking forward to voting tomorrow...for the first time in a long time, maybe in my entire adult life (and I'm older than Michelle Obama by a bit!). I'll be biting my fingernails till the results come in 'cause I don't trust the polls.

Carolyn, love your sewing and while I don't sew garments, you inspire me to enjoy the sewing I do.

    Thanks!

  5. We are mail in only in my county - so I've voted and posted my ballot already. Will be staying up all night to see result - you know how slow the West Coast is. g

  6. In Australia voting is compulsory. I am not so sure this is a good thing as even if you have no clue you still have to vote. Everyone's name (once you turn 18) is on the electoral role and it gets crossed off when you vote. And we don't have any where near as long a lead up - maybe only 6 weeks. Hope the best man for the job is elected!

  7. I voted last Tuesday and have felt free to ignore all political ads ever since then. :D My only concern is "how will Florida find a way to complicate *this* election?" BTW, my cousin sent me an email reminder about the treatment, including imprisonment and torture, of women who demonstrated for the right to vote 90 years ago, and it made me angry at all the women I've heard say "oh, I'm not going to vote. I don't like either one of them". Either one of them?!? Our ballot listed at least a dozen presidential candidates. No excuses. Go vote. The women who endured so much to win this right for us deserve that much.

  8. I just posted about voting too to remind my students to go vote today.
Good luck to all the wonderful citizens in this country and lets pray that we are taken to a better place than we have been.

FYI - 38% already voted here in Florida. I don't think we're going to screw it up this time.

See you tonight for the celebration

  9. My son and dil already voted today, in the swing state of Virginia. At 7:03 they had to wait 50 minutes to vote! Of course they voted for Obama. I am getting ready to go out and vote. Of course I have to get off the computer to do that! Happy voting and here's to the right man winning this race.

  10. In TN, we have earlier voting, so I cast my vote earlier. My Obama vote will probably not make a difference in my red state, but I felt proud to cast it.

Now with this election over I'll have more time to SEW!!

Had to come say good morning because I know you are as happy as I am.

    Cheers to a better tomorrow!
