Equals nothing...

So if anyone has a piece of that particular Anna Sui fabric that they would like to sell me...*sigh*...I'm listening...and yes, I've already gone through the gyrations of figuring out if another piece might work...I have nuthin'...please don't hurt me any more than I already am by suggesting that...

Otherwise, I'm finishing the new John Grisham novel today...I have walked away from my sewing machine...*sigh*

  1. Sorry can't help you with the fabric but my mom just finished that book and says it's great! I've just started reading Erin McGraw's novel "The Seamstress of Hollywood Boulevard". I have to admit that I thought about you when I read this: "My mind fled to lustrous cloth and gleaming thread, exacting dresses that grew more difficult as I grew more skilled. ... I had opinions now about the placement of a button, the spacing between two rows of trim. Even when I held no cloth between my hands, I thought about the problems posed by a line and a measurement, and I could lose myself for an hour thinking about ways to gather a waistline. ... it locked onto the problem of a dropping armhole and wouldn't let go. Even when I found a solution, I kept wondering, kept turning the problem around -- what if I raised the shoulder higher just there? Wouldn't that be even better?"

Now doesn't that sound like you? :)

  3. Oh, that sucks!!! At times it's best to walk away from it, and come back with a clear mind.

    Enjoy your book. :):)

  7. Carolyn, I never posted to your blog, but I look forward to see your new creations and love your creativeness. I just so happens that I have approximate 2 yards that fabric aging in my stash that I recieved in a mystery bundle from FabricMart and it is yours for shipping. Let me know.

  10. I was going to suggest piecing stripes around one sleeve (which I still think could look great, depending on how you've used the rest of the striped sections), but I see your problem has been solved above...

  13. GGGRRRrrrrrr. I've been there! How frustrating, but how fabulous that someone has some extra to offer you. Gotta love the internet!

  14. When I saw the picture of the fabric, I burst out laughing. I have some of this one too. So if Lisa's offer doesn't work out....email me. I only have 2 yards. At the shrinkage rate you experienced with your fabric, you might get one sleeve out of that. The jacket will look so great over a black dress.

  15. Well, I'm glad Lisa has it, although I would give you mine since you are actually using it and I am not. But if you don't need I must use it soon so I can play catch-up.
