The August/Sept. Vogue Pattern Magazine

ETA: They're up! The new patterns are up! And they have some that aren't even in the magazine!!!

I received the August/September issue of Vogue Pattern Magazine and since I was amongst the last to receive my copy, I just knew that the new patterns would be posted by now! I mean they just had a sale on patterns...selling off the last of the spring/summer ones...so you would think they would be posted now...right? But alas...there are no new patterns in sight...I know because I've clicked into the site several times in the last couple of days!!!

Okay...I'm obsessing! I know this! I admit this! But you would be obsessing too, if you saw this:

The dress and the suit are by Badgley Mischka - I want both patterns!

This is a new Tracy Reese - love the detail on the jacket back!

I am soooooo loving this Anne Klein coat! I may actually break down and sew one this Fall!

This Five Easy Pieces pattern...I can see sewing an entire wardrobe from this one pattern!

Okay...I'm even drooling over this Marcy Tilton top! I have the perfect piece of black painted shantung to make this up in! No fabric purchase required and that's a good thing!!!

This Vogue Woman topper would work in any lifestyle...

So I guess I will continue to stalk the website for the new patterns...hoping, praying...that they will show up soon and you too can share my joy!

  2. Nice stuff, and while the suit with the green blouse definitely is a fav, I did not see anything I *loved, loved, loved* until I saw the 5 easy pieces shot with the black and grey jacket! I may actually have to break down and buy that Vogue pattern. Unless BWOF comes up with something similar and quick!

  6. Carolyn I agree with you on all the pattern choices. I just started a Bagley Mishka design today and can tell it's going to be fab. When ever the craft store (lol) has Vogue pattern on sale for $3.99 I'm stocking up!

  8. I am loving many of the patterns in the catalog. However I am just not ready to move into fall. Yet I will be acquiring a few of these patterns just to be ready!

  9. I think I need to subscribe to this pub. Unlike BWOF, you can see the details. The clothes look so much better here than they do on the pattern envelopes. I may make another coat for fall-winter.

LOL, I haven't even seen this mag on the newsstands yet. And I was in Borders and B&N several times in Palm Desert this past week! Why do sewing mags come so late to California?? I like the patterns you've noted, Carolyn, especially the Five Easy Pieces.

  12. Carolyn,
you picked the best of the best! It will be hot in Florida for another 6 months- at least that will give me some time to make up one of these!

  14. I've been doing the exact same thing! I used to expect the patterns to show up about a week after I got my magazine, and a week after the sale, which would make it early next week; but last time my magazine came after the patterns were already up and now I don't know what to expect.

I've got to get those patterns!

  17. Obsession is a good thing! Far better than not being inspired, right?

  18. You are so lucky having received the Aug/Sept. Vogue issue - here in the UK we have only just received the July edition, and the August/September issue isn't out until 13th. August - I can't wait!
I was so impressed with your button collection - you are so well organised. I went straight out and purchased some boxes similar to yours, and found they work really well- I can now see exactly what I have in my button stash.
Now, how do you organise your fabric stash?

  19. OK, you've got me hooked. I never look much at the Vogue site, but the first two pages you show are such wonderful patterns. They're on my wishlist already!

  20. I was happy in my quiet little world, until you showed me these patterns. That last one...a coat that would be suitable for Florida?!? In my lifetime? Now I'll be stalking their website.

  21. I too am frustrated they haven't posted the new patterns yet. When the last issue came, I ordered some new patterns using the insert "3 for the price of 1" thinking it would be weeks before they were available on the web site. Three days later they were on sale on line for $5.99. So this time I wait and wait and wait... I like many of the same patterns you do. ..and wait and wait.
