With this white top that I made two years ago, and a RTW black silk & cashmere cardigan...
Photos of me wearing this skirt and pieces one & two later because my photographer is due to give birth any minute. I spent a lot of my sewing vacay watching these two so she could get some rest and spend some time in the hospital. It's been a difficult pregnancy and they keep moving her delivery date around for the health of the baby, though the stress is about to wear her out.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in sewing blogland who has mentioned me in a year end post. Your kind words have warmed my heart. My hope is that I will continue to provide inspiration and information to all in 2014.

ReplyDeleteAt least you got some sewing done! :) I'd love to see whatever you make for the grandkids - if you do any sewing for them. My mom gets a lot of kid's clothes at thrift stores and sales so it's not worth it for me to sew them much, though I did make them all matching jammies for Christmas.

ReplyDeleteLove the extras you added to this skirt. The lace edging on the lining is a wonderful idea, and really adds a nice touch. The faux leather on the sides is a terrific idea. It's something that only a designer would think of adding.

Nice skirt! Love how the faux leather strip at the side totally upgrades it. That and the lace on the lining hem.... I don't think you can call this skirt "simple" ;-)

ReplyDeleteLovely skirt - I have a similar one planned using one of my Mum's tartan fabrics and a co-ordinating ponte or corduroy as side panels. I love what you have done with the faux leather - very cute!

ReplyDeleteI like your idea of adding the ribbon to tell the difference between the back and front. I usually sew in a different color of thread in the back but I think I will use this going forward.
