The fabric for the October Fabric Collection giveaway...

Orange ltwt ponte, border print blue/green rayon challis
black wool crepe and black/white/grey challis

...and the winner is:

"Robinsnc"
who said that she doesn't have a favorite fabric
just anything that's not children's flannel!

Would both of you kindly send me your email addresses (my email is in the about me section on the blog sidebar) and I will get these out to you this week.  For previous winners your boxes went out on Saturday.  However, since tomorrow is a postal holiday, I'm sure they're probably still sitting at my local post office. Soon, you will have them soon.

The Vogue 8935 outfit is done.  I just need to get "modeled" shots so it will be up on the blog shortly. A sneak peek is below...

  2. Can't wait to see the modeled shots ... looks great on the hanger. Pinstripes ... that's what I was jonesing for the other week. (I finally checked and got your email, but have been a slacker about replying since my answer is "I don't know." Sorry! Please forgive.)

This is definitely one pattern that I passed right over from the envelope photo and then your ideas made me look again.

  6. Carolyn:

This is my first time at posting - shy I am - although I follow you on Pinterest as well as your blog. Like you, I am in my mid-50's and I'm overweight, neither of which is a sin or against the law! Just because we're overweight doesn't mean I don't like to dress well, but normally I cannot find the items in RTW that are in my budget.

YOU give me inspiration several times a week. I now see details in garments that I never noticed before. For the first time in years, I am sewing for myself! I've even take a couple of online classes. This is only because you've motivated me into thinking I can make that too. Thank you for your inspiration! Ignore that nasty person - she is not worthy of your time! Keep sewing and posting!

  7. I can't wait to see the new outfit modeled. I love pinstripes and high contrast (not that you could tell from my sewing history).

  9. Oh, what a beautiful suit! That is the perfect Executive Suite
ensemble, and you look so great
    wearing it.

I love the cuff detail and that
    darling button. Great design
    element.

Good .. that you're not letting
the ugly junk hinder in any way
all your efforts and the valuable
    contributions you make that help
    us all, sharing your sewing
journey as we plot and ponder our
    sewing choices and decisions.
