No, it's not finished yet. I'm having an issue with one sleeve so I want to take it out and put it back in. It needs buttons and buttonholes and the jacket needs to be hemmed. Otherwise its almost done, however, so am I for the night!
I'll put all the gory pattern alteration and construction details in the finishing post...and I'll probably finish it next weekend. Oh and one more thing...I will definitely make this again during the spring/summer in a linen...I just have to figure out how to line it!

ReplyDeleteIt's coming along simply beautifully! What a gorgeous choice of fabric and buttons! Oh, for the lightweight one for spring.... maybe do French seams so you don't have to line it at all?

ReplyDeleteI have to say when I read your first post about the jacket, I did not think I would like that jacket pattern. But seeing what you have done so far, it is looking gorgeous and I can find the attraction more to this pattern than I did at first glance. Lovely fabric!

ReplyDeleteI could actually help with lining it... And I bet people like Gertie could, too. Like with other stuff, there's a trick to it. Or, at least there is the way I do it! (I'm fairly sure that my construction methods aren't the 'approved' methods. I just know that they work and produce nicely finished clothing)

ReplyDeleteLove the jacket, I have the same fabric (fabric.com sale?) and have a skirt about done, just a few seams to finish. Its such a luxurious yet stylist color palate, I think.
