I've been having conversations with Janome America for several months. As you know I am a loyal and faithful Janome sewing machine user. I've written several blog posts about them. I love the machines and their ease of use. So I was thrilled when Janome America invited me to be a member of their Maker Team!
Now I don't know if you've read or heard about the resurgence of sewing in America due to how much time we're spending at home. Not only have we started to cook more but we're also crafting, sewing and knitting since we're home a lot more. Because of that sewing machines in both beginner and more advanced models sold out in the early days of quarantine...and it took a minute for them to be restocked and for me to receive my new machine.
Y'all I did a jig yesterday when the UPS truck dropped off my new Janome 9450QCP sewing machine...even though I was in the midst of packing up my sewing cave...and since I'm packing we took it out to ooooohhhhh and aaaaahhhh over and then I packed my machine back into it's box.
A Few Pictures ~
I really wanted to devote this post to my new Janome sewing machine and becoming a member of the Janome Maker Team. My next blog post will discuss a few changes that are coming to my life...so stay tuned!
....as always more later!
Your granddaughters are as cute as can be! I am wondering, now at the hint of change in the wind... packing up your sewing cave?!? wishing you well in whatever is happening, stay well and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Carolyn! Janome is fortunate to have you on their team. You will represent them well! Best to you on your move as well. Your helpers are adorable. Some of my most favorite childhood memories are being with my grandmother in her sewing room.
ReplyDeleteSo cheering to see those smiling little girls--it really made my day. Looking forward to hearing more about the new machine and your new opportunity.
ReplyDeleteOoh how exciting :)
ReplyDeleteAs always, I can’t wait!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your Janome status! They couldn't have picked a better person to represent them. So, what's the big news? Your teaser about packing up your sewing cave leads me to believe you are moving. Anxious to hear! Karen
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and I agree they couldn't have picked a better person. Enjoy the machine. And I can't wait to hear what is happening. Jean
ReplyDeleteI love Janome as well. Looking forward to your posts about the "Maker Team". What an honor.
ReplyDeleteYour Grand kids look so happy.
Now the sewing world needs to encourage "mask makers" to broaden their sewing skills by going into the next step of sewing clothing.
Janice
I am sure that you will get lots of use out of your new machine So exciting for you! Enjoy
ReplyDeleteI am so happy Janome put you on their team. I’m loving the sewing dad and looking forward to the fashion therapist girl too, I think there’s going to be some good stuff coming out. I hope the new toy has only a brief waiting time in the box.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the recognition Carolyn. I'm also a Janome devotee. Recently having flogged my 12 year old Janome 6600 to death I had to update. Fortunately I found exactly the same model on ebay that had never been used, still in the box. So I didn't really have to update in the end, just replaced. I look forward to how you'll use the new recognition to encourage others to take up sewing.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I'm delighted for you. Looking forward to seeing what you make with it and to hear the rest of your news, which is intriguing 😊
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new collaboration with Janome. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this machine can do. Good luck with the onerous chore of packing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I can't wait to read more of your collaboration with Janome!
ReplyDeleteI've had my 9400 for about 3 years now. Love it and it just might be my last machine ever. There is a Facebook 9400/9450 users group that is a great resource since the manual is next to useless. Almost all complaints about the machine are due to user error or poorly worded messages on the screen. This is my 4th Janome machine and I've loved them all, but especially this one.
ReplyDeleteWow. Way to go. My original machine was a Sears Kenmore (made by Janome) purchased in 1970. It finally got replaced this summer by a new Janome! Only fifty years later, but the same reliable great brand.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new machine and becoming a Janome Maker!!!! When I read packing up my sewing cave, my first thought is that you are moving! Look forward to your next post on changes in life and about your machine.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new machine. I LOVE my 10001 Janome embroidery machine. All the cool things you are going to do....Just sit back, close your eyes and DREAM of all the new projects you will make & cool things you will achieve...Ahh!!!!😎
ReplyDeleteI don't know who looks the happiest you or your children! I hope they are learning to sew along side their Mom! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!
ReplyDeleteExciting and congratulations - so glad to see some diversity at Janome. Love my Janomes.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an honor. You make such nice things and give a lot of details that are helpful to others. Janome sees the great maker in you. I'm sure you will do them proud. Beautiful granddaughters too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on becoming a Janome Maker! They have wonderful machines, and I look forward to what you have coming up!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, I’m jealous! Why packing?
ReplyDeleteWooohooooooo!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such good news. Both the new place and being part of the Janome Maker Team. I am so excited for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Your granddaughters are darling.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! This is so well deserved - you are one of the main reasons I bought a Janome several years ago. I hope you enjoy the new machine!
ReplyDeleteMoving is so much better with cheerful, much-loved helpers
ReplyDeleteI'm a fellow Janome fan. Hope your new janome is delightful. I'm curious about whether they still have the pressure dial to lighten the foot pressure. A feature I love but which many other manufacturers have got rid of.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very curious about 3 needle plates. I get a straight stitch plate and a zig zag, but what's the third?! g
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Any hobby you love should bring you joy and peace.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, havent been around much I retired and took up quilting. But in reading your blog it occured to me I can still make clothing. You have inspired me. Thankyou for your inspiration. Being retired doesnt mean being a slob. Dottie
