Update on Simplicity Code

If you've recently tried to use the discount code at Simplicity Patterns and it wasn't working, there was a web update and it's working again. Remember it's in effect until October 31st.  The 20% off discount code is "FANATIC16". If there was anything you wanted from the Simplicity website, you have time to surf on over and pick it up!

What's Next for October?

First, I need to thank all of the retailers who participated in National Sewing Month by donating a pattern ~ Simplicity Patterns, Cashmerette Patterns, Closet Case Patterns, Blue Dot Patterns and SBCC Patterns. Thank you, thank you thank you!

During the month of September I've been busy sewing...for my granddaughters. I've also made an outfit for me using some fabric from StyleMakers Fabric that I will share shortly. I didn't want to interfere with the StyleMakers Blog Tour that finishes up this week. I hope you've been following along because some amazing garments have been made with wonderful fabric choices from StyleMaker Fabrics.

So those are the items that are up next on the blog! My daughter and I spent today styling and photographing the little people. It ended up not being as bad as I thought and I got some great pictures ~ 378 to be exact! I've posted a few to Facebook and to Instagram. More will show up here and on Instagram.

The Next Discount for National Sewing Month

The second discount for National Sewing Month is from Dutch Label Shop.  I know that you've seen some of the labels ordered by other sewists displayed on their blogs or other social media platforms.

Finally here are the ones I chose for myself ~

I deliberately chose a simple iron on label. See I've had labels before and I always felt they were too ornate, too big and no longer relevant to who I am now. These are smaller labels that can be ironed on and that I'll add a few stitches to. Also I really wanted my new labels to say "DiaryofaSewingFanatic". 

Now that you're inspired to own some labels of your own, let me tell you that the order processing is so simple.  When you go to the site, dutchlabelshop.com, there's a great video to get you started. I highly recommend watching it.

Then move onto designing your own label but if I may make a recommendation, look at a few of your favorite sewists labels first so that you can see all of the amazing combinations that are available to you. Play around with the components on the website to get your "perfect" label.

After that when you've decided upon what type of label you want and what you want it to say, remember that Dutch Label Shop is offering a 15% discount off any of their products. Go through the ordering process and use the discount code "carolyn" at checkout. The discount code is good until September 30th so you have time to research and decide just what you want your labels to say.
