Since I'm sooooo anal and list-oriented with my sewing, I've already named the collection of garments that I will sew for fall. I'm calling them "An Elegant Fall"...isn't that kewl? And if you don't mind, I would like to show you a few of the combos that I will start with...
This Badgley Mischka Dress ~ Vogue 1121:
With this painted brown herringbone from the now defunct Textile Studios:
Vogue 1127 ~ Badgley Mischka Jacket & Skirt:
With these fabrics - Burgundy wool crepe, brown silk print & burgundy tweed:
This Michelle Obama knock-off dress ~ Vogue 8593:
With this navy blue doubleknit from the Vera Wang Lavendar Collection (Fabric.com):
Finally this Rachel Roy dress worn by Michelle Obama:
In these fabrics - blk/wht/gray silk blend, cranberry silk, cranberry paisley knit:
And I also bought these Vogue patterns:
Vogue 8607
Vogue 8606
Vogue 8605
Vogue 8600
Vogue 8596
Now I'm all ready for fall sewing in the middle of July! *LOL* Just have to finish up those last two pieces of the Gelato collection and make up the pieces in "The Pumpkin Seeds" collection (the newly renamed Orangina Collection). But I'm good...not antsy about sewing up these beauties at all because I will take my first sewing vacation of the year, during Labor Day week. I have a plan...well several...and I'm ready!!!
As always...more later!
Love your fabric choices. And you said you shopped your closet? MMMMM I need to come over to your house and do some shopping! Looking forward to see the Pumpkin seed collection and your fall collection.
ReplyDeleteNice choices. Make some beautiful things. Falll--ahhhh, love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff!!! I can't wait to get my patterns! LOL
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices! Can I come over with my machine and we can pretend it's September?
ReplyDeleteI love your plan. Will you make one for me - that works with my body and my life?
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the pumpkin - so love the new name of The Pumpkin Seeds. I know it will be fabulous and am looking forward to the unveiling. g
I too love your plan, and echo requests for a plan for me :-) I wish I could discipline myself to do this. I am currently reorganizing all my fabric (refolding and storing by color if I can squeeze it all in), so I *should* be able to easily shop my stash in the future. I also have an inventory book with swatches, so regardless of storage, I have no excuses...
ReplyDeleteYou've made some wonderful decisions. I particularly like the Misha B pattern and fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteGreat line-up of patterns and like your fabric selection.
ReplyDeleteFantastic choices for fall. Love the burgundy combo best.
ReplyDeleteLove the BM suit and the Textile Studios fabric is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWork that plan!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's going to be a beautiful collection. Can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice of fabrics / patterns. Love the warm tones. I'm looking forward to seeing the garments.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful patterns and fabric selections. I have been trying to place an order for several Vogue patterns all day (I am a Club BMV member) and find the Shopping Cart and the Checkout function non-responsive. I sent them an e-mail and hope they can rectify the problem. If not, I lose out until the next sale....not that I suffer from a lack of patterns.
ReplyDeleteSounds exciting - and great name for a collection! As it is winter here in NZ it isn't hard to imagine warm clothes, what I am struggling with is warm weather clothes! Still, summer has got to arrive sooner or later :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
that looks like a well organised sew plan. Love the patterns and fabrics you've chosen.
ReplyDeleteI always love checking out what you're sewing and your ideas for fall look fantastic. Love the stash fabrics. Keep it coming...
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the fabrics for your Miss O. dress. I'm looking forward to seeing it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your plan - especially the last dress. The fabric combination will be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove your pattern and fabric choices, you'll look very elegant. I have to thank you for reminding me of Fabric.com. I got the Vera Wang knit jersey in black and charcoal. They didn't disappoint, they are fab! I am a shameless copy cat, I have my Fall plan done, thanks to you.

What a beautiful collection -- you have such a good eye! I especially love the cranberry silk/cranberry print. Can't wait to see them made up.
ReplyDeleteWow, you found the perfect fabrics for the Rachel Roy dress! Good job using what you have on hand.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I would have bought more patterns during the sale. Like you I am really liking, make that loving, the new fall offerings by Vogue. I just have more week left than discretionary money!!!! Love your selections. A few of those will be on my next Vogue sale purchase. Loving the fabric combos you shared with us. You will be smokin'.

ReplyDeleteWow! your fabric selection is gorgeous.. I can only imagine what your fabric stash looks like...I look forward to seeing your finished projects.....
ReplyDeleteI'm so not ready, glad you are. I've committed myself to not buying anymore fabric or patterns until I use what I've got. I, like you, have said this a thousand times, but this time I'm doing it! Can't wait to see your creations with your fabulous fabric!
ReplyDeleteShow off! You have great taste in fabrics I can't wait to see the FINAL REVEAL!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat selections for fabrics and patterns to go with the Elegant Fall Collection.
ReplyDeleteWhat a concept . . . shopping from the fabric stash!! I must remember to try this, particularly when my package of ten new Vogue patterns arrives (hopefully this week). Can't wait to see your new fall wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteYour choices are all fabulous but the BM suit and the Rachel Roy dress are incredible. Anxiously awaiting their construction!
ReplyDeleteI bought the same three patterns you've shown here, so I'll be keeping an eye out to see what you do with them. I love the Rachel Roy dress that the First Lady is waring. I haven't seen it before. Your choices for it are wonderful and I can almost visualise how it will look.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great plan! I am excited to see the final garments!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see the Rachel Roy dress
ReplyDeleteI love your fabrics! - and I am soooo jealous. You have inspired me to sew again. I used to sew a lot, and at times I made all my own clothes and my kids' - except for jeans. And now my body is of a shape that means almost nothing in ready-to-wear fits me. I saw your blog, then read EVERY BIT of it, thirstily.
ReplyDeleteEspecially the bits about altering TNT patterns. So that is why I got back to my own (now) TNT pants pattern, and why I now have several pair of pants that fit. Thanks!

All of the combos look pretty but my favorite is the Rachael Roy knock off. Such pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteWow, they will be some beautiful garments. Those Vogue patterns are very tempting too!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and was so inspired by your sewing, color and pattern choices. What a treasure! You've really helped me get focused on my sewing for fall. What pattern are you going to use for the Rachel ROy dress?
