A Sewing Room Update & A Giveaway

During my last sewcation, I literally spent ten days in my sewing cave. As you know, whenever you spend a considerable amount of time somewhere you start to think how you can use portions of it differently.  This time it was this area in the sewing cave that started to bother me.

I need to access the storage area behind my sewing cave from time to time and the walk through space has gotten too tight with the stacked plastic bins.

So when I saw this cabinet online, I knew it would work in that area.  It would give me more walk-through space and allow me to store the fabric from the bins in it.  It arrived while I was on my sewcation and it took me and my daughter to get it down the stairs into the sewing cave - the thing weighs 75 lbs and came fully assembled.  Here is how the area looks now...

Of course all of this meant moving fabric around and finding pieces that I'd forgotten about.  Honestly people I have alot of fabric and the fact that I remember about 80% of it makes me proud...*LOL*...or sick and obsessed!  I'm going with this is a normal situation, okay...but I digress.  When I was moving fabric, I found that I am the owner of three yards of a deep chocolate brown faux leather, too.

Since I have no plans for this brown faux leather and there has been some interest generated in others owning some, I'm willing to give away a yard each of the brown and black faux leather.

Here are the stipulations ~
  • You have to be living in the United States...sorry but this time I'm not shipping outside of the US.
  • You must leave a comment on this blog post ONLY by 6pm EST Friday, January 18th.  Only comments left by that time and on this post will be eligible for the drawing.
I'm working on the Pleasant Purple Dress, taking my time and enjoying the journey.  It's going to coordinate well with the Pleasant Purple Jacket.  I've enjoyed a calm and wonderful weekend in the sewing cave.  I hope you're enjoying a great sewing weekend too!

...as always more later!

  12. I would LOVE to have some of that fine faux black leather to trim a top I have been dreaming about. I missed out on the giveaway last year because I received the wrong fabric ...wool (allergic to it unfortunately)!

    Best Regards

  13. I've been enjoying your sewcation reports! My favorite is probably the leather/ponte dress, which is interesting because I never would have thought about wearing a dress like that. But it looks pretty cool!

I'm going to be making some new shoes and boots for my little niece soon - she'd love the faux leather. :)

  26. Oh, please enter me in the drawing! Also, how is the new machine? I am SO close to purchasing one! But, then I wonder if I am getting too much machine for someone that doesn't quilt. OTOH, I want a really nice machine that will stitch beautifully and last a long time. Sooo.. big decision considering the $$.
