However, this post is mostly pictures of the finished dress and the jacket or "The Lisa Outfit!" Since the dress is from my TNT pattern and I've made it several hundred times (okay that was an exaggeration!) but I've made it alot, there is just nothing new to say about it...except that I now want it in a navy blue wool crepe and a grey wool...both fabrics are in the collection and should be used. Almost every jacket that hangs in my closet would go with these dresses and would make it extremely easy for me to get dressed in the mornings...now, do I make them or the other things on my list...*sigh* I guess you will have to stay tuned to see what comes out of the sewing machine next.
So without further ado, "The Lisa Outfit!"
The dress alone
The dress with jacket
My daughter had me laughing so hard while she was taking the pics - but this is a great shot of the jacket and dress.
The back of the dress.
Now I realize that this isn't the most corporate of outfits...but I own plenty of them for days that we have meetings...and this dress with one of those jackets just adds to the number of outfits for formal meeting days. However, this outfit speaks to my personality...a little artsy with a dash of pro-fess-iona-lism...or my version of 'Corporate Chic.'
I've had a wonderful three day weekend...calming and full of creativity. I finished a UFO, I made a new dress and I have a kewl new sweatery jacket. Hope you had a wonderful weekend too!
Love that color on you! I'm so glad it worked out :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that the "SMILE" tells it all! Looks like your styling! They look great and so do you. Hmmmm, I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to have the other colors in the collection.
ReplyDeleteI really love this set- it looks great on you. I got the jacket at a butterick sale the other day. One question somehow I missed the dress pattern- what is your tnt dress pattern number if you don't mind? I may already have it as I have been able to get some of your tnts. If you told us already I apologize. You sew so much I get lost when admiring all the patterns. mssewcrazy
ReplyDeleteI am way out of the corporate loop, ie knowing what is appropriate wear, but this looks good on you, and obviously it makes you happy to wear it. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in your new outfit. And as always your workmenship is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOMG - your smile - its wonderful to see you enjoying your moments with your daughter. Good times....
ReplyDeleteYou look very professional in the dress and jacket. It would work here in SoFlo for business. Y'all must really dress for the corporate world up there. I'm thankful I can wear jeans or shorts to work. I'm done with the days of taking hours to get ready before starting the day.
It is great to see that big ole smile!
Your latest project reminds me of something I just read by someone with Native American heritage.
ReplyDeleteShe says "In indigenous ways of knowing, we say that a thing cannot be understood until it is known by all four aspects of our being: mind, body, emotion, and spirit."
I'd say you "know" sewing thoroughly. You are an inspiration!
You look beautiful in your great outfit!
ReplyDeleteWhat a productive weekend you had! Your whole outfit is gorgeous! And that little black dress!! I've got to make me one of those even if I have nowhere to wear it.The jacket is really special. ReplyDeleteAfter hearing you drill into me (ok not drill but you get the point) the importance of TNT patterns I have finally decided to pull out some patterns, make a mini wardrobe, and see what works for me. I finished reading 2 pattern fitting books and I am so ready to start.

ReplyDeleteI found the post about the dress and drats I think it is that burda that is not to be found in a larger size. On the bright side I found a simple burda dress pattern when hunting that I loved the look of( burda 8530). I really really need a new LBD in several colors especially black. Lol!
