These two beauties followed me home:
This is a piece of a ltwt. wool crepe that will work wonderfully with a piece of silk that I already own. Hopefully, the two will become a version of this Barrie Pace dress:
And this cotton piece - that just made me happier and happier back in the office as I showed it around. I will use my TNT dress pattern with this fabric.
I have no pics of the meeting. I don't know why I can't seem to remember that both my blackberry and my cell phone have pretty nice cameras in them...so the only photo is on Sherill's camera and she doesn't leave NYC until tomorrow. Hopefully she will post the group photo on her blog!
Yes...the "yellow" fever has truly bitten me...and I can smell spring so you know I've got more than a few ideas for dresses that are crawling around in my brain begging to be brought to life! I want to work with both of these pieces this weekend...hopefully I will get some sewing time!!!
I love that stripe fabric!
ReplyDeleteYou can send that wool crape to my house, I'll email my address (lol).
ReplyDeleteCool fabric. It is fun to hang out with sewing buds in a fabric store.I'm glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeletethat second piece is fantastic. I can totally see you in it. It helps that you're holding it in front of you. g
ReplyDeleteI love both of your choices. They will become beautiful dresses!
ReplyDeletethat striped fabric is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI want to see what you are going to make out of it
I am loving yellow also! I just can't find the shade I want! LOL
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Yellow is a beautiful color. I love it year around. And the stripe kis awesome! Aren't you lucky to have all thos FFFs to shop with!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the TNT dress in that fabric. It's really beautiful! And so is your smile holding the fabric. It's great to see what fabric does to you!
ReplyDelete"Yellow Fever" -- hehehe, gotta love that. I was rummaging around in the back of my closet and found...a yellow summer (linen/short sleeves) jacket that I'd bought eons ago. Worn once or twice because (cue scary music)...I don't have anything to wear with it. Now have a piece of cream/brown/yellow/black print fabric for a dress.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The yellow, of course really speaks to me! But, the striped is very different and I see all kinds of possibilities.
ReplyDeletePretty pictures indeed! That striped fabric has so much potential!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your rendition of that gorgeous Barrie Pace dress! Yum!
ReplyDeleteGreat yellow! That stripe fabric is practically a dress already! It just needs seams, a zipper and sleeves!
ReplyDeleteI would be itching to sew those two also.
ReplyDeleteThe stripe will make a lovely dress. I can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteThe multicolor will work well with your TNT dress! I like the yellow, too; it's a springy color.
ReplyDeleteYellow! Love that striped fabric 2. Nice lunch hour :)
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to discover a couple summers ago that taking up dyeing my hair red makes it ok for me to wear yellow! It doesn't make me look as sallowly washed out as it does with my natural hair colour (mousy anglo-saxon brown, blech! Why, oh, why could I have not taken after my dad's black Irish side of the family when it came to colouring?)
ReplyDeleteSo in other words, I'm feeling the yellow-love. And that Barrie Pace dress is fab - I love the trimmed welt pockets! It's going to look smashing on you!!
That striped one is awesome!!! I can already visualize it as one of your TNT dresses. With the sleeves in the beige and maybe one of the stripes at the edge for added detail. LOl, I tell you this whole dreaming up the dress just by looking at the fabric is catching on. :):):)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lory
Carolyn, I love everything you picked out. That BP dress is great. I feel like I haven't been to Kashi's in ages...
ReplyDeleteIt's great when you find those special fabrics. These will make wonderful garments :)
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics you picked out Have fun sewing. BTW do you need my address because I know you purchased the stripped fabric as a early present for me (smile) enjoy your project I can't wait to see what you are going to do with the stripped fabric.
ReplyDeleteYou have again hit the fabric jackpot! Both of your fabrics are gorgeous, the yellow quite sophisticated and the stripe trendy and TDF. I will loving seeing your creations!
