So even though there was a huge amount of excitement, due to "The Little Prince's" arrival...
...gratituous baby shot...
I didn't sew for two weekends, yet I managed to finish 3 garments using 6 yards of fabric...which when you think about it is but a drop in the bucket to 54 yards but at least I do have something going out! All 3 pieces were knit garments - fast sews - but "The Gladiator Dress" as I've taken to calling it...was a new adventure for me. The 4 piece set that the knit dress and the other 2 pieces are a part of still needs the skirt to be completed. I may or may not get to it this weekend, because I do have some out and about plans for Saturday. But it will be finished before the month's end because the cardigan, tank top and skirt will make a wonderful springy outfit.
I am not counting "The Dreaming of Spring" dress in this month's totals...because it's not done. However, I'm very pleased with the progress I've made on it and will finish it up this weekend. Now that the weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and my creative soul is seriously stirring...I plan on working on making quite a few more dresses...'cause you know how much I love a dress!
I'm making no pledges for April except that I will be sewing...*LOL*...and spending quality time with my sewing machine!!!
I say "hooray" for those 54 yards of fabric. That's 54 daydreams! 54smiles. 54 ideas. What could be better, except, of course, for that precious little baby!
ReplyDeleteSUCH a punim! I love seeing babies when they're brand new; they change so fast that even a glimpse of a newborn at the mall is a special event.
ReplyDeleteAn adorable new grandson and 54 yards of new fabrics - that is a lot to be happy about for the month of March!
ReplyDeleteFifty-four yards?? Yikes! I don't know if I have 54 yards in my entire stash! Okay maybe that was a lie ;o)
ReplyDeleteThat grandson is sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! 54 yards!? Well enjoy and make some of it up soon :)) And very cute baby photo...sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love that gratuitous baby shot. He's adorable. Just look at all that hair.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute baby shot, darling. 54 yards, wow, how fun for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing amount of hair on his precious little head.
ReplyDeleteHe's simply gorgeous. Please don't be shy about showing him off!!! 54yards...hmmmmm, you've got plans!
ReplyDeleteAny gratuitous baby shot is fine by me! What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteYour dress below looks beautiful so far.
54 yds. of fabric! A year's worth!! You won't have to shop andy so look at the bright side. With that little punkin' who would want to spend time shopping anyway?
ReplyDeleteYikes, 54! The good thing is that you'll sew it up before you know it. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a handsome baby, god bless him. :) Little men like this one make me go ga-ga. Just today I got to see my little man. Ahh my gummi, I love that little boy so much.
Hugs,
Lory
Gratuitous baby shot, love it! I'm on a self imposed fabric diet at the moment and it's hard, but I'm only doing it because I have enough stuff to pack for my move already. Soon as thats done I'm hitting the stores!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful baby! Is he thinking what to say after you have just confessed to the 54 yards?? Lol! Can't wait to see all the garments that will result from your spree this month.
ReplyDeleteBring on those baby shots! And the 54 yards? I say, if you're going down, go down in flames! Just kidding, but guess what? Life's too short to pass on simple pleasures like great fabric and cool grandkids.
ReplyDeleteSo …… you include a gratitutous baby shot to garner sympathy because you fell off the fabric buying wagon?!?!? Wee, it worked! Your Little Prince is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAw, he's gorgous!!!
ReplyDelete54 yards? How do you find the time! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Love the new dress.
Anon in Ire
Sounds like fun- 54 yards. Let's see some of it.
ReplyDeleteWell....it was just a couple of years ago that I bought fifty something yards in May and still managed to make parity by the end of the year. You've got a head start on me; you can sew that up! Or at least sew up the equivalent thereof.
ReplyDeleteSo long as things like theater productions or church costumes don't interfere with your personal sewing time ;).
Thanks for keeping me inspired!!!
He is totally gorgeous! Are you going to share these 54 yards with us? I know that the spring dress has some of it, but If I remember correctly, only 1.5 yd. I need some vicarious buying pleasure, having been good at only 2 yards.
ReplyDeleteYou can just blame that 54 yards on pregnancy and nesting hormones you picked up by osmosis from the little prince's mother! You can even blame any extra calories you might have consumed on that too!
ReplyDeleteLove the baby pic and love the dress.
54 YARDS of fabric?!! OMG, you do have a serious addiction. Where do you put it all?! Can I have some of it?
ReplyDelete54 yds of fabric! hurayyyyy how about 54 more yds for April. Beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are in good companying. I racked up about 30 yards myself. For shame. lol
ReplyDeleteHello lil' handsome. He's adorable.
He is such a beautiful Baby :)
ReplyDelete54 yds :0 That is a-l-l-o-t :) but I know you will have lots of fun with it.
He's so darling. My babies were almost all bald, so I really goo at babies with the full hair option!
ReplyDeleteAnd 54 yards of promises and possibilities...
He looks so deep in thought....gorgeous.
ReplyDelete54 yards? You're making me look like an amateur! I bought a lot of fabric in March, around 32 yards, so I need to get sewing. Good thing I have a service project to do in conjunction with the ASG Conference in July.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your little grandson is so precious! What a cutie!
I can hardly imagine the treasures that will come from that 54 yards. My purchases were in the 30 + yard range also, purely amateur.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric and gorgeous grandson to cuddle. Congratulations on both fronts
Your grand son is thinking what is she going to make with the 54 Yards well he will watch and wait. He is to cute
ReplyDeleteThe same is going on here: I'm buying way much more fabric than I am capable of spending, lol. I wish I had your storage capacity!
ReplyDeleteSo I don't feel bad - I purchased 27yds of fabric in one store and thank goodness the bag was too heavy to carry around, b/c I wanted to go to another fabric shop.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason why I am on a tunic rampage... because most of the fabrics were cut in increments of 2yds for making tunics.
*Pinchy*Pinchy* Wook at the Widdle Baby!!
