I have a plan...really I do!

I just keep getting sidetracked by beautiful pieces of fabric...

...but seriously wouldn't you have brought that piece home too!  I was at the check-out counter, I was next in line and then I saw the sign, tweeds on the second floor.  And I thought, what could it hurt to look?  Yeah, right, you know those famous last words?! *LOL*

Anyway, I bought that along with a luscious gray silk crepe because I have a whopper of an idea for it.  I dreamed this people, dreamed it!  I woke up Tuesday morning with the entire dream intact.  I was able to write it all down and come up with a sewing plan...an amazing, awesome plan.  It's been keeping me company for the last couple of days and even though I won't be making it anytime soon...I will need a couple of days in a row to work on it, because it's intricate and it will need samples and some other things.  I will leave you with two words - Ralph Rucci!  More about that later but first a sneak peek...

So I bought two yards of the black & pink tweed...which is a Jason Wu fabric, btw! I love that...picking up designer pieces to make me some new gear with! *LOL* I've bought designer fabric before but I have to admit that sometimes walking around Mood and touching fabric makes me feel like a kid in the candy store.

I've read all of the comments that have been left so far on the "One Year Later" post and I have to tell you that some of them really touched me. Y'all had/have some pretty nice things to say and now I feel like I have to work even harder to keep up the "illusion!" *LOL* Anyway, there have been so many wonderful stories/comments left on that post that I've decided to give away two (2) yes two $50 Mood gift certificates. If you think you didn't have a chance to win before, now there's an even greater chance!

Okay back to the Jason Wu fabric, I'm gonna cut it out using my TNT dress pattern as a sleeveless sheath, line it with some hot pink lining and maybe add some pink piping to the neckline and armholes...nuthin' new or exciting just a dress that will let the fabric shine.  I only got to the sewing cave a little while ago because I spent my afternoon babysitting...

It was worth it even if it means that I didn't get any sewing done today!

...as always more later!

  8. Oh, those grandchildren are sooo sweet! The tweed is classic--and I am intrigued by the silk crepe and the Ralph-Rucci dreams! Mardel, Liana and I snoop-shopped at his little corner in Neiman Marcus recently (and Mardel was wearing an original Chado Ralph Rucci coat--WOW!).

  14. Can't wait to see what happens with the Rucci inspiration. Saw his creations at FIT and wondering if beading, stitching, etc will be involved here.
