So front - jacket and pants together:
Back of jacket and pants:
Oh and a construction picture of the pants with a half lining inserted to help alleviate the wrinkling:
I'm definitely going to work on the dress I just added to the collection this weekend...it's a little something different and funky...will probably have to be worn on Casual Fridays only...but it's so me...and after 20 months of making seriously corporate clothing...I am definitely injecting a little me into my wardrobe.
More later...
I love how the pants/jacket combo looks on you...as usual job well done!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour pants look fantastic on you and look great with the jacket.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the pants and jacket outfit! The fit is perfect and super flattering.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! The pants are wonderful and I love the change-up that happens when you don the dress with the jacket! Keep going...
ReplyDeleteLovely pants! I was wondering though if you could recommend a book or link that shows how to line a garment, (especially something with darts and other types of things)? I notice a lot of your things are lined, but I haven't found very many useful links that show how to do it other than with skirts. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, that is one smart looking outfit. I love how you are adding some flair to your "corporate" look. I'm sure you're getting noticed more, in a good way, of course.
ReplyDeleteThose pants look so smart! Great with the jacket.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the dress to refresh ourselves with the "real" Carolyn :)
What a chic outfit! I love the jacket with the dress too.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great outfit!
ReplyDeleteHey, Ms. Fancy Pants!! You look great in your new outfit - you'll knock 'em dead at work!
ReplyDeleteDon't know where you are in the corporation.... but give that gal a raise! Way to look like you mean business! You look great!
ReplyDeleteNice job! It's going to be so easy to get ready for work!
Very, very nice. Can I come play in your closet. Have fun with your dress.
ReplyDeleteNice ensemble! You look great!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely suit. Well-made and flattering.
ReplyDeleteI love the jacket and I love, love, love the pants! Very flattering and crisp!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great look with the pants! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWow, Elegant with lots of flair and sassyness. I like the fact that the pantsuit can become a workhorse in your wardrobe. beautifuly done
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love, love your outfit. That jacket and pant combo is TDF!
ReplyDeleteLove the pants and jacket. Those shoes look pretty awesome, too!
ReplyDeleteThose pants are - in typical Carolyn fashion - fabulous! I love the look of the jacket with the pants, but I really love it with the dress. Can't wait to see the new "non-corporate" dress that's been percolating along.
ReplyDeleteI'm also very glad to hear that you aren't working so much - if you finished the pants on a weeknight. g
Just had to comment on this blog because I have been a 'fan' of your blog for the past four months. I love your creative ideas with sewing. This particular blog entry inspired me to do some sketches of my own to start sewing again in the fall. :-) Thank you for your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYour entire ensemble is fabulous and looks great on you. Would you mind explaining how you lined your pants. It is difficult to tell in the pictures, but is the lining hanging loose inside, but just to below the knees, or is the lining sewn into the seams? I wanted to try this, but was worried about show through. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAs everyone says, that ensemble is awesome. You do the details that make or break an outfit! Love the wide leg pants, and esp their length! Black and khaki is a fabu, sophisticated color combo. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, stunning as usual! I love the chic pants/jacket combo. Your choice of accessories is perfect. The jacket/dress combo is nothing short of a knock-out look! You look fabulously chic and tres corporate, but in a very CEO way! I always love to see what you come up with. You are such an inspiration to me. Once I'm done with my move, I have a very "corporate" wardrobe planned with some gorgeous charcoal double knit with some black, white and gray accents. I can only hope that it will be half as chic as yours.
ReplyDeleteLovely and professional! Flattering and chic.
ReplyDeleteNice jacket; I think it looks especially good with the black dress. The shorter sleeves are nice for spring/summer wear, and I'll bet the width makes them a bit cooler and more comfy in the heat!
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever. Your ensemble is beautiful and inspiring. With each outfit you complete its hard to imagine how your next outfit can exceed it. You don't disappoint. Wow!
ReplyDeleteI love both outfits! The jacket is gorgeous and very versatile and you look terrific in the pictures! You got the color right too, since both pants and jacket will coordinate with many other garments!
ReplyDeleteI love these ensembles and am excited to see what you are working on next.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking ensemble - love the half lining in the pants too. I never think of that, so thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket shaping is very flattering on you.
Great looking outfit.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit.
ReplyDeleteLady, You are too sharp! I'm catching up on blog reading and reading yours is like reading a "How to be Fabulous" plus "Sewing" book. You are "Vogue-ing".
