Scandal and Sewing!

That's right Gladiators - Scandal is on BET all day today!  And guess who will be tuned into it, in her sewing room...yeap Sewing and Scandal the 2Ssssss!

+ + + + +

The Burda Adventure pattern is all altered and cut out.  Next up is fabric (cutting and tracing), I will be working on that today!

+ + + + +

My August Mood Project will be fall related! I picked this fabric up from the Mood NYC store earlier this week...

Wool menswear suiting & a lightweight wool crepe

I want to make this...
Emanuel Ungaro - Resort 2014 on Style.com

...just have to pick up a RiRi zipper from Pacific Trimmings and I will be all set! Now I know that this isn't an exact copy but when I was in the store looking at suiting the steel and blue large box plaid jumped out at me and screamed take me home! *LOL*  Actually I've adjusted the look so it's a little less advant garde and more conservative work space friendly.  It will have the "vibe" of the inspiration piece yet not be a "direct copy" of it...and I won't be wearing blue shoes because Gay I don't own a pair of them! *smile*

Some thanks are due!  First to everyone who've left such awesome comments on my last couple of garments.  Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoying them as much as I do!  It is appreciated!

Second, to everyone who left a comment on the "Tell Me" post.  Again thank you for joining in the conversation.  I love when y'all talk back to me, tell me what you think and that I'm not crazy! *LOL*  Also it was nice to see some commentors that I haven't seen in awhile!  I'm not going to name names, but know that if you've recently gone back to commenting, or are a new commentor, I've noticed! Personally I love Question of the Day posts because I love reading what you think about this passion we share!

+ + + + +

One more and I'm done!  Every time I think that we have too many things in our sewing rooms, I'll catch sight of one of the craft rooms on Pinterest (my new time suck - gawd I check on the bus in the morning, in the evening, at lunch!  Save me! *LOL*) and realize that I'll never have that much stuff to organize...

I'll resurface tomorrow when I've hung my Gladiator suit back in the closet to wait for the start of Season Three in October *sigh*  But today I will enjoy...no, wallow, in the wonderousness of Scandal as I spend quality time in my sewing room!

...as always more later!

  4. Enjoy your day of sewing. I know when I see rooms like that I wish sometimes I could have a room like that but then I just think Thank God I have a room, there were times I did not have my own space, so I' happy with what I have.

  5. I love pretty sewing rooms! I have the space but no inspiration LOL Such is the luck of a plain Jane type of person.

  6. I could mess those up in about two minutes into a sewing episode. If my sewing room looked like those,I'd want to stay out of it and not proceed to mess it up. I clean and put things up when done but make a huge mess when in project mode. My sewing fantasy is a really big warehouse of a sewing room, mile long cutting table, and industrial shelving so everything is out and visible. Oh and a forklift to move the fabric bolts on pallettes around. And not visible from within the house. Lol!

  7. That craft room looks like a store! Must be a really big house. I am thinking what to sew for fall - I better get cracking - I got rid of lots of tops at the end of winter. My stock in 3M just went up - due to your recent taping of the Burda pattern!

  9. Wicked - I have now spent time looking at sewing room porn instead of cleaning the bathroom... and then went and looked at my space. Too messy and just the end of a bedroom - well we can dream can't we!

  10. Love your new fabric - this will make up into a stunning dress. My workplace (Government, say no more) has actually blocked Pinterest and Blogger during work hours - no lunchtime peeks for me anymore...J

  11. Hmmm...a Scandal Saturday. That sounds like a fun way to spend Saturday in the sewing room! I really like your "talk to me" posts. I read all the comments and learn a lot. When I think I have my sewing room organized, I see something like the pictures that you showed. I don't have quite that much stuff, but I dream of getting my room as organized as those pictures. I just go in my sewing room and want to sew!I'm sure that your next two projects will be as fantastic as your last two. Happy Sewing!!

  12. Granite countertops in the sewing room! Wow. It's a beautiful room, but there are other things ahead of my must have list before a designer sewing room. Maybe we should start playing the lottery.

  14. You know how they photoshop celebrities? I think those sewing rooms must be photoshopped too. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

You turned me on to Scandal a few months ago and I streamed all the episodes from the first two seasons within a few days. I'll have to watch again before S3 starts.

  16. Don't say "I'll never have that much to organize"- it has happened to ME! 8(

Ai-yi-yi ,I never thought I'd have anything like as much fabric, trim, embroidery/sewing/jewelrymaking/ beads sequins, and gadgets and supplies as I have, but that's what happens when you have good thrift shops nearby!I swear: I could easily open a store with just what I have in the house. If i ever get it all organized it will be a red-letter day!

  17. I have managed to not let the Scandal bug bite me by avoiding it all together. I just see everyone's Scandal status updates on Facebook and twitter! Those sewing rooms are ridiculously tidy. I feel like I should see Martha Steward turning the corner at any moment!

  19. You are making great process on that Burda pattern. I saw a sewing room posted on pattern review that was unbelievable. Is that the canary tracing paper from dick blick (note to self go order a roll before pressing post comment before it's sold out).

Thanks to Anne from Gorgeous Fabrics for that paper info because it has saved me $.

  24. Don't forget! Next Saturday is another Scandal Saturday! I watched the 14 episodes on Sunday, while doing Nothing! I'm ashamed. But I pick up on things I didn't catch the first (ahem several) times I watched. :-)

  25. All I have to say is "Whoever dies with the most fabric wins!" I have lots and lots of fabric and am constantly adding to my inventory, but I can't imagine having an entire fabric store in my home. My hat is off to those ladies.
