A Brief Bit...

For someone who thinks about sewing all the time, I really have nothing to say today. However, I stumbled across this picture in the June issue of Lucky magazine...

and thought of this...

Guess I'm right on top of this trend...

And that was your brief bit for today...

More this weekend...

  1. Maaabeeeee.... the editors have been reading your blog and you are a trendsetter, not just "on top of this trend". Ya, I'm sure of it, aren't you? ;)

  2. Carolyn, me too, love ties on tops! That trend was big in the 80s and I'm happy to see it back again.

  4. Honey most seamstresses are because they don't have to save up to buy a high priced trendy garment -- they just make it! Great job as usual!!

  5. Carolyn, after reading all about your tank tops and looking over the pics, I bought a pattern for one (did have a few in with other wardrobe type patterns, but felt like a new one). It's actually an "old" one, but has bust darts and self bias binding like yours. I'm going to go back and reread your directions on making the tie. I do have the Sew Stylish mag also. As to the trends...you are starting them girl!!!

  9. I've just finished a top like that but I moved the tie to the side (the neckline is "boat shaped" - I don't know if you call it this way). I made a variation of the February BWOF top 119. I didn't have enough fabric for the large collar so I made it as a narrower side tied on collar

  11. Wow, Lucky is trending you!!!!!

I have seen a lot of tops with ties of late. I was inspired by yours and the Sew Stylish fall magazine. I still need to make one!
