Plus an awesome brown double knit that I bought from Fabric Mart earlier this year are coming together to make an amazing work dress! Yes, I'm sewing another dress...well its that time of the year...its still warm with gentle breezes blowing...and the hem of my dress will float gently against my stockings as I'm strolling down 57th Street in NYC...wearing these wonderful k*cka*s shoes! *LOL*
Yeah, the shoes inspired the dress! More later!
Who couldn't be inspired by those shoes?
ReplyDeleteI love these shoes! Glad to see I'm not the only one who starts a wardrobe from the shoes up! Can't wait to see the end result.
ReplyDeleteGreat shoes, Carolyn. Thanks for the update about posting on your site.

cool shoes... I am so glad fall is coming (somewhat) this week. One of the weather systems that kept Ike from invading our area is bringing cooler weather. It was 104 today.
ReplyDeleteSounds very romantic...and the shoes are gorgeous. Me, I am spending the weekend on my knees scrubbing the floor. I think I have the spring cleaning bug.....most unlike me..lol
ReplyDeleteI agree who wouldn't be inspired by those cute shoes.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, You sound so like a kindred spirit!Imean yourlove of sewing and fabric and shoes and sewing....I've just discovered your blog and I love it. I sew every chance I get and since I'm a retired teacher I can pretty often.Your post on fabric scraps is very familiar. I have a rattan hamper full of scraps that I just can't bear to throw out??? I know it makes no sense but what if I throw them out and then I find a use for them someday??
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing from Diana in Canada (aka Sew Passionista)
Shoes, fabric and a new pattern...what more could a girl ask for! I like the shoes
ReplyDeleteAll you need now is a purse/bag to go with the whole outfit! Cute pattern! New or old Vogue?
ReplyDeleteI get my Vogue patterns when they go on sale at Hancocks for $3.99...
Have fun!
I totally get it, Carolyn, and I *love* the shoes!

Cool shoes! Love the dress too!
ReplyDeleteYou are a sewing fanatic! It's great to see someone who really loves their craft!
I love the lines of that dress, the shoes are great too, I love a classic slipback with buckle I own a couple of those and they never ever go out of style!
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes. They will look great with that double knit.
ReplyDeleteI thought about you lately -> I experienced the joy that is called Fabric Mart. I made a new sewing friend here in B-more and she unloaded A LOT of her wintery stash and I was the lucky recipient. The quality (and quanity) and is FABULOUS.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have that dress pattern, too. It strikes my fancy just like it strikes yours. Can't wait to see what you sew!
Great looking shoes-can't wait to see the dress.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, yes, those are some fabulous shoes. I know the dress will be fabulous to match.
ReplyDeleteHow could the shoes not inpsire the dress, they are gorgeous. Although I'm sure the dress is going to turn out perfect for you, it will be hard to compete with the shoes! Looks like its time to rev up the sewing machine.
