Met a few sewing friends ~
Wanett, Sonja, Jenny and me in Mood
Why this child felt the need to lick me is beyond me?!
Bought a few goodies from the garment district ~
Ribbing from Pacific Trimmings, Black Lace from M&J Trims
Hug Snug from SIL and zippers from Daytona Trimmings
I need you to notice that no fabric came home with me!
Shot a few projects for the blog ~
...and started working on pattern alterations for Vogue 9079!
There are a few more garments to be shared on the blog but I'm thrilled about the V9079 dress and the project after that one! My sewing mojo is seriously on point and I'm going with the flow of it!
...as always more later!
Looks like a happy and productive week! 9079 looks like a beautiful inspiration dress. I'm excited to be heading to NYC in a few weeks so am paying close attention to where you like to buy some of the basics.
ReplyDeleteElle - alot of the NYC bloggers have their favorite sites up on their blogs. Also don't forget Shop the Garment District's blog because I think they have everything in the district featured there.
DeleteThanks! I'm afraid I'll be too overwhelmed by the bounty to choose fabric, so am hoping to stock up on some bargain basics. Easier to pack too! We'll see....
DeleteFun to catch up with friends. And well done on not buying more fabric :) It is such a temptation.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time was had by all. I purchased that pattern too. I would love to make a top with it.
ReplyDeleteLove the phots. You are such a teaser with your upcoming projects, I can't wait to see them!

Bonnie - all but one is already up on the blog! So only one more to go!
DeleteYou have been SO restrained on the fabric purchase front. I scarcely know you! :-) And Sonja seems sweet and silly. She reminds me of my daughter. Of course, I'm no where near old enough for that to be the case.
ReplyDeleteIn all truth - I've been having a fabric mart moment! I've had 4-5 boxes of fabric delivered in the last two months. It's why I had no problem not purchasing fabric that day!
DeleteHooray for restraint! Love the goodies you did pick up!
ReplyDeleteI like the dress. So interesting and I bet you're going to do some awesome color blocking with it!
N. - you know me so well! *LOL* Yeah there is some color blocking going on - prints and solids. It should be an interesting dress!
DeleteWhat fiber is the ribbing? and are these the only colors available? Seth is often in the garment district or going by and is willing to stop to pick me up things so the most detailed descriptions are necessary! He picked up a dozen coat chain hangers for me with the help of his cell phone. He's also bought me silk linings in Mood. Things that where no taste is required. I must say that you are getting beautiful fit for the thinner you. Love the dress.
ReplyDeleteNancy - there is a wall of them at Pacific Trimmings right pass the rivets. He could stand there and Face Time you if you have an iPhone or take pics and send photos via text if you're working an android and you'd be able to direct him that way.
DeleteI didn't realize the ribbing was there. I saw Jenny with it and went and got some. I'm using mine to add to grandkids clothing so I wanted very basic colors.
So glad I got to see you and antagonize you a little bit! :)
ReplyDeleteGirl you know I love you and have no problems with you and your issues! *LOL* What I really wanted to say wouldn't play well in blog land but think of me and you know what I'd say! ROTFLOL!
DeleteLooks like you all had a ball, and despite the restraint on fabric additions, you can never have too much Hug Snug!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn that Vogue dress is beautiful, I'm really looking forward to seeing that one. Might need to put that on my list!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Carolyn! I was there for work a few weeks ago.. a few of my favorites were closed for the holiday :-( I hope to get back there soon.. The small stores have so much to offer!
